Hello world!

Over the last few years, I've seen old and dear friends of mine leap into the world of parenting, leaving bachelorhood and sex and the city days behind them, to be replaced by mounds of organic diapers and discussions about nipples. Though at times I find it all a bit bewildering, not having had any first hand experience with it myself, it's also truly fascinating watching close friends transform to accommodate this new life. As far as I've observed, there isn't some sort of magical parenting fairy dust that alters all previous neurosis or small imperfections into perfectly functional frameworks. We are who we are. But what the introduction of "the little one" does seem to do is remind us that there are things more impressive and more important than ourselves in the world. And that we will not always have all of the answers, but we will be ok. And sometimes, we just have to have a little faith, reach out and grab a hand, and go with it.
